I started my career as a mental health provider working with children and families. While the journey since then has been non-linear, it has followed a thread of curiosity surrounding what comprises human experiences and how we might improve them by thinking and collaborating across boundaries. I have spent time working for hospitals, government, and design agencies as a design researcher, design educator, consultant, and coach. These roles have intersected my educational background in Cognitive & Brain Sciences (BS), Public Health (MPH), and Service Design (MA).
Now I am a service and systemic designer specializing in care and complex systems. My approach is transdisciplinary, and bridges my roots in behavioral psychology with process-oriented tools like continuous improvement, and the creative, iterative, and flexible mindsets of a designer and systems thinker.
I love redesigning not just the “what” but the “how” of life and work. The fabric of teamwork, organizational structures, culture, relationships and communication all create the stage upon which a service is ultimately delivered. At Livework, I am working primarily in the healthcare sector in order to improve both service experiences and outcomes for staff, patients, and families.
I am a senior service designer specializing in healthcare and complex systems. I combine behavioral psychology, systemic design, and process optimization to improve experiences and outcomes for patients, staff, and families.
